DESCRIPTION

In a group setting, participants will be exercising their non-dominant hands to create a composition.

REQUIRED TOOLS

Large paper, thick and thin drawing utensils of a variety of colors (markers, pens, etc.)

NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS

4+ participants

ESTIMATED TIME REQUIRED

10-20 minutes

INSTRUCTIONS

On a large piece of paper, participants will draw lines with their non-dominant hands. Each participant will use a different colored utensil. On each participant's turn, they will draw one long line. After they complete their line, they will pass the paper to the next participant.

Each drawn line must adhere to the following three conditional statements:

if (participant draws a line)

then {line must start on an edge of the paper AND end on an edge of the paper}

if (right hand is non-dominant)

then {use thick utensil AND line must be tight and zig-zagged}

if (left hand is non-dominant)

then {use a thin utensil AND line must be loose and loopy}

Participants can intersect or overlap each other's lines. They have creative freedom over the placement of the lines on the page. The exercise will complete when all participants agree the composition is full.
